At long last, book one of the HOW NOT-TO BE A LEADER series is off to the editor! We hope to have the book available on Amazon by the end of January (or so) just in time to start your 2017 off with a well-oiled sense of humor and some valuable new insights to leadership.
Mary and I wrote "How NOT to be a Leader" over the course of the summer 2016. We met at strategic locations including Sinclair Island, WA and Lummi Island, WA to get our creative on while staring out into the beautiful northwest forest, or the sunsets of San Juan Islands and Puget Sound. In September, we thought we'd finished. Then November 8th happened.
The very next day, we found ourselves staring at doorknobs. Speechless. Stunned. Horrified. In our minds, the very worst qualities of leadership had reared their ugliness, and as with most truly deplorable leadership, there were those who rationalized the abuse, and those that vowed to fight back. Quitting in this case, is not an option.
We met again just recently and rewrote some of the book, to ensure that we put a big fat bold comic sans exclamation point on the importance of great leadership, and the enormous responsibility of leading by example. And we vowed to keep writing about leadership, keep fighting to put more women in board rooms, court rooms and someday, the Oval Office...
